Hunters for Hungry Program

ATTENTION ALL YOU HUNTERS:

Van and I will once again be participating in the "Hunters for Hungry Program" thru our Deer Processing Business this year.

The program is designed to help feed those in need with deer hunters donating their deer to participating processors who prepare the highly nutritious venison for distribution to food banks.

The meat is processed as ground venison and packaged in one-pound freezer packages, which can be prepared in the form of protein-rich chili, lasagna, meatballs and burgers.

Participating food banks in Effingham include G.L.O.W. Ministry, God’s Mission House, Manna House, The Filling Station and Rincon First Christian Church.

Horton’s Processing is located at 620 Chester Thomas Rd., off Highway 21, six miles north of Springfield. For more information on donating, call 754-9791 or 912-655-5855.

This loving cart is very easy going.  She is strong and has a beautiful blue handle.   She is house trained and listens to commands.  Although she has a resting spot in our hallway she needs a proper home.  Her beauty is becoming a focal point in our office.  Any takers?

Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society Buddy Walk

We are trying to get a team together to walk in the Buddy Walk on Saturday, October 23rd.  It is usually beautiful weather and it is only $12 a person.  We just walk around Forsyth once and enjoy the festival.  The festival will take place between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm.  Please contact Libby if you would like to sign up for the walk.

Go Green 5K Trail Run/Walk

Proceeds from the Go Green 5K Trail Run/Walk will benefit the Chatham County Resource Protection Commission (CCRPC), a local land conservation organization. The money will go towards purchasing ecologically important properties within Chatham County and creating public recreational opportunities within these properties when appropriate. The location of the race, the Whitemarsh Preserve, is protected and managed by the CCRPC!
